How to Select Solar Powered LED Street Light for Projects ?

With renewable energy being paid attention by governments of Countries in the world, most of projects are to adopt solar powered LED street light. Under governments’ support, many people would like to choose solar powered street light for their private projects. But how to select appropriate solar street lights for projects ?

1. To Select Appropriate Solar Powered LED Street Light.

1) The Height of Lamp-Post.
Usually, the height of lamp-post is according to the width of road, it is the optimal selection to choose the height of lamp-post being the same as the width of road or a bit of bigger than the width of road.


The Suggestion is as below:

3m-4m Lamp-Post is adopted for Single lane.
5m-7m Lamp-Post is adopted for double lane.
8m-12m Lamp-Post is adopted for Four lanes or main road for traffic.
Courtyard or other occasions lighting can be decided according to illumination range.


2) The Watts of LED Lamp.

The watts of LED lamp should be decided according to the application of solar street light, the height of lamp-post, the LED luminous.
Usually, slight low watts of LED lamp can be selected for the roads and occasions where so few people or cars pass by, slight higher watts of LED lamp can be selected for the occasions where many people or cars pass by.


The Suggestion is as below:

3m-4m lamp-post is to adopt 15W-20W for Power of LED Lamp.
5m-7m lamp-post is to adopt 30W-50W for Power of LED Lamp.
8m-12m lamp-post is to adopt 50W-100W for Power of LED Lamp.


Double LED Lamp Heads can be adopted according to situation.

3) The Diagonal Dimension of Flange and Embedded Part.

Firstly, the diagonal dimension of flange should coordinate with Embedded Part, so that it can be installed.

Usually, the height of lamp-post is higher, the diagonal dimension of flange and embedded part should be bigger, and the embedded part is deeper.

The Suggestion is as below:

3m-4m Lamp-Post is to adopt 240mm diagonal dimension of flange and embedded part.
5m-7m Lamp-Post is to adopt 260mm diagonal dimension of flange and embedded part.
8m-12m Lamp-Post is to adopt 280mm diagonal dimension of flange and embedded part.


4) The Thickness of Lamp-Post.

The Lamp-Post is more thickness, it has more capacity for wind resistance.


The Suggestion is as below:

The thickness of 3m-4m Lamp-Post is 1.5mm-2.5mm.
The thickness of 5m-7m Lamp-Post is 2.5mm-2.75mm.
The thickness of 8m-12m Lamp-Post is 2.75mm-3.5mm.

2. The Installation Distance and Position of Solar Powered LED Street Light.

According to construction drawing and the investigation of geological site situation, the installation site should be decided in the area where there is no any shadow on the top of solar LED lamp, the installation distance should be 20m-50m, otherwise the installation site should be adjusted.


The suggestion is as below:

The width of road is 3m-4m, the height of lamp-post is 3m-4m, the Power of LED Lamp is 15W-20W, the installation distance should be 20m-25m.
The width of road is 5m-7m, the height of lamp-post is 5m-7m, the Power of LED Lamp is 30W-50W, the installation distance should be 30m-40m.
The width of road is 8m-12m, the height of lamp-post is 8m-12m, the Power of LED Lamp is 50W-120W, the installation distance should be 30m-50m.


3. The Orientation of Solar Panel.

Solar panel should orient the direction where is radiated by sunlight directly.
Usually, the orientation of solar panel is towards Pure South in China.
The orientation of solar panel is different in different Countries, Customers should adjust its orientation according to their installation site.
